Hello everyone,
I come back again with skincare related blog post, the focus of this post is about the ingredients of your skincare products rather than a review of brands that I used and love. The aim is to help you make better choices when getting your skincare anywhere with any price point. So, let’s start talking about these amazing ingredients that will help your skin for sure!

1. Vitamin C
It is full of good antioxidants that help to protect the skin and fade acne scarring. There are different forms of vitamin C with different potencies that you can choose from. Vitamin C well known for its brightening and smoothing effects, also it helps to even out the skin tone and heal the skin from sun damage. The use of vitamin C could irritate the skin so it’s important to make a patch test before use. To keep the product for a longer period of time you have to keep it in cold environment away from the sunlight and once you notice changes in color make sure to throw it away. To start with good vitamin C products you must The Body Shop vitamin C line.
2. Vitamin E
It’s known as beauty vitamin that people swear by, it will make your skin feel fresh everyday when you wake up. Vitamin E calms your skin after a tiring day of sunlight and layers of makeup. Vitamin E will help to reduce skin damage and reduce inflammation and redness as well as moisturizing the skin. Also, it used by pregnant women to reduce the stretch marks formation. It's best to be applied at the night time in form of serum or oil so it stays on the skin all night producing its magic. The best vitamin E that I’ve ever used is The Body Shop serum in oil vitamin E.
3. Retinol
The lot is derivatives of Vitamin A, it has been used before as an acne treatment because it increases cell turnover and unblock the pores. Later on, they have found that it improves collagen production and helps with anti aging signs like wrinkles. The results of retinol take time to appear, sometimes up to 6 months. When using retinol start with the smallest percentage like 0.2 or 0.3 % and build up the tolerance for it. It is better to use retinol at night time and when retinol at the day time avoid sun exposure, because when you put retinol and expose yourself to the sun this could lead to hyperpigmentations. There are so many brands that have good retinol products so choose what work for your budget.
4. Snail secretions / mucin
This is considered one of the crazy ingredients that have been used in Korean skincare products over the last five years. Snail mucin is a complex mix of peptides, glycosaminoglycans, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and metal ions (such as zinc, copper, iron, and manganese). The snail secretions help to add moisture as well as luck in the moisture in your skin. It is very helpful to heal the acne scars, but usually take a long time and you need to be consistent. One of the best products that contains a high concentration of snail mucin is Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence.
